Red Line trains delayed after customer disturbance

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Some Red Line trains were experiencing residual delays Sunday morning after a customer disturbance halted a southbound train at the Wilson station on the North Side.

Officials stopped a southbound train at the Wilson station for about 11 minutes after a customer disturbance was reported about 7:49 a.m., CTA spokesperson Steve Mayberry said.

As the train awaited police at the station, the person creating the disturbance fled the scene, Mayberry said.

CTA customers reported feeling harassed by a man who appeared to be homeless, said police News Affairs officer Jose Estrada. There were no arrests made and no one was injured in the incident.

Trains were moving again as of 8:18 a.m. but experiencing residual delays, according to the CTA.
