Several students injured in Washtenaw Co. bus accident

YPSILANTI, Mich. (WJBK) -- Several elementary school students suffered minor injuries Friday when two Lincoln Consolidated Schools buses crashed in Washtenaw County, officials say.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff's department tells FOX 2 the accident happened at 8:42 a.m. at Bemis and Whittaker Roads when one bus rear-ended another bus.

After the accident, the buses pulled into the parking lot of nearby Childs Elementary School, so students could be checked out by paramedics.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

Five students where transported to area hospitals. Officials say none of their injuries are life threatening.
