WASHINGTON (AP) - Hall of Famer Hank Aaron is being honored by baseball greats, dignitaries and his family during a celebration of his 80th birthday this weekend in the nation's capital.

Attorney General Eric Holder saluted Aaron at a private party Friday night near the White House.

Reggie Jackson and fellow Hall of Famers Frank Robinson, Robin Yount, Ozzie Smith, Jim Rice and Rickey Henderson paid tribute to Aaron. Commissioner Bud Selig also saluted Aaron.

Aaron broke Babe Ruth's career home run record 40 years ago when he hit his 715th homer while with the Atlanta Braves. "Hammerin' Hank" finished with 755 homers, a mark later broken by Barry Bonds.

Aaron turned 80 on Wednesday.
