PHOENIX (KSAZ) -

A teenage girl is recovering after Phoenix Firefighters had to rescue her from top of the mountain at Buffalo Ridge Park Sunday.

Phoenix Fire responded to the park near 16th St & Union Hills after noon. They arrived and made their way to the girl who was complaining of heat exhaustion.

Paramedics walked the girl down from the top of the mountain slowly. At the bottom of the mountain they evaluated her and released her to her parents.

Park Rangers determined that the mountain is not a designated hiking trail. Phoenix Fire recommends that hikers only use city designated hiking trails.
