Strong storms moved across north Georgia Friday morning, leaving scattered damage and power outages in parts of the area.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the stormy weather.

A number of trees were blown down. Cobb County appears to have been the worst-hit area. A wind gust of 58 mph was reported at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta.

At 7 a.m. Friday, Georgia Power reported that more than 14,000 customers had lost electricity statewide. More than 9,000 of those outages were in Cobb County.

Work to restore power moved quickly through the morning. By 10 a.m., the number of outages in Cobb County was fewer than 1,000.
