Motorcyclist who led police on a chase arraigned

Posted: Updated:

Tuesday we brought you the end of a strange chase that ended inside a store at Arrowhead Mall. On Wednesday the rider faced a judge and we learned new information about the young suspect who was running from police.
the pursuit traveled on i-10 and up i-17 at times speeds approached 100 miles per hour. Police caught up with the motorcycle rider near 75th avenue and bell.

Richard Tinta was arrested in a Macy's store at arrowhead mall after he ran in , put on a pair of pants, and walked out of the store.  His costume change didn't work, he was arrested by police.

A photo of Richard Tinta on his Facebook page shows him on his motorcycle. Prosecutors say he was arrested in 2011 for speeding on a motorcycle over one hundred miles per hour, sometimes passing cars in the HOV lane.

While being arraigned in the 4th Avenue Jail he tried to convince a judge to lower his bond, which was set at $15,000.
Tinta: "Is there any way you could lower it, I don't want it to mess up my school schedule"
Judge: "Well the problem is these offenses create real danger to other motorists"

Tinta made that bond and will be back in court in a week. He faces a long list of charges including fleeing police, speeding, and shoplifting.
