Jersey City mayor seeks public's help on potholes

Posted: Updated:

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) - Jersey City's mayor wants people to help him fix the city's pothole problem.

The streets in New Jersey's second-largest city have been battered by snow and freezing temperatures and are now pockmarked with potholes. So Mayor Steven Fulop is reaching out to the public.

In an email Monday, Fulop asked the public to call in or send photos of pothole locations.

Photos can be submitted using the city's mobile app that's free in the iTunes and Android mobile app stores. Residents also can go to the city's website to find an online request form.

Fulop says public works crews have been deployed since last week around the city. He says they're using high-tech equipment that can fill a pothole in 90 seconds or less.

For decades, making some quick cash was the main drive behind so many who took the ride down the parkway to Atlantic City. But with so much to choose from nowadays, it looks like Atlantic City is in a lot of trouble.
