I-Team: Guns found in schools - Search county-by-county

Posted: Updated:

Students. Schools. Guns. Across the country we hear about kids as young as elementary school who decide to sneak a gun onto campus, sometimes with deadly results. Thankfully, most of the time the weapon is discovered and confiscated, a note sent home or emailed. The child suspended or expelled.

It's happening in Georgia more than you might think.

We analyzed five years worth of mandatory reporting data. More than 300 real handguns or rifles discovered. How are these students getting these weapons? Can they be stopped? Can our schools be made safer without turning them into armed camps?

Watch our investigation and search the data for yourself. Then let us know your thoughts.

Prosecutors considered him their key witness, a longtime Gwinnett developer given immunity to spill what he knew about corruption inside county government. David Jenkins testified before a Gwinnett grand jury in 2010. He also met multiple times with prosecutors. Those interviews were videotaped. Four years later, prosecutors agreed to a no contest plea bargain with former commissioner Kevin Kenerly on one count of bribery. He will serve 10 years on probation and pay a $10,000 fine.

Oh, that awful feeling when you think your credit or debit card is safely tucked into your wallet, but it's still shopping. Somebody, somewhere has got your card number and is using it. What if you could turn off that card?
