A 1 year-old is recovering at a hospital after a father found his child in a family pool near 42nd St & Shea Blvd. Friday morning.
The father pulled the child, who was in a walker, out of the pool and ran to a neighbors house to a call paramedics.
The father described the child as blue in color and not breathing. CPR was started and rescue crews rushed the child to a local hospital where the child is expected to survive.
Capt. Ruben Saavedra with Phoenix Fire said that while a fence was in place the latching device may have failed.
