PALOS HILLS (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A Hickory Hills man was arrested last Tuesday, accused of threatening to stab another man and his dogs in southwest suburban Palos Hills.

Frederick Kalvelage, 46, is charged with aggravated assault in connection with the March 4 incident in the 10200 block of 86th Terrace, Palos Hills police said in a release.

Officers responded about 10:45 a.m. and spoke to a victim who claimed a man came up to him while he was walking his dogs, the release said.

They started talking about dogs, but then the man "became very angry," pulled out a knife and threatened to stab him and his dogs, the release said.

Police found Kalvelage walking several blocks away with a knife on him, and the victim positively identified him as the suspect, the release said.

Kalvelage will next appear at the Bridgeview courthouse April 16, the release said. Bond information was not immediately available.
