Micro Pigs Becomes A Licensed Pet

Posted: Updated:

Rhode Island issues its first micro-pig license.

The state is joining the trend of micro-pigs and will now allow people to own the mini-swine as a pet.

Victor Kinoian, owner of "my pet piggy," was issued the first license.

He will now be able to breed and sell the little pigs.

Victor Kinoian, owner of My Pet Piggy explains, "micro pigs are extremely affectionate, they love you, they want your undivided attention all the time."

Kinoian continues, "It's tough to treat them like a dog or a cat because they're so close to you. And so you got to teach them like a kid."

An adult micro-pig can grow to weigh between 20 and 40 pounds.
