The Michigan Humane Society rescued five puppies Thursday who were left on the side of a road to freeze in a storage container.

The container of puppies was found near West Grand Boulevard and Woodward Avenue in Detroit, just blocks from the MHS Detroit Center for Animal Care.

MHS says someone called and told them about the puppies.

The puppies were brought to the shelter and have been seen by a veterinarian. They were given vaccinations.

One of the puppies, Snowcap, has already been adopted. The four other puppies, Taylor, Dana, Oscar and Raisinette, are in a foster home fighting an upper respiratory infection.
