Now that the snow is finally melting, we're left with a messy brown, downright sad-looking lawn.

Getting your yard back in shape may take more effort than normal this year.

Deborah Eagle from Eagle Landscaping and Supply in Southfield says fertilization will help, but to wait until the weather warms up.

She says you can also re-seed now, however. Use loose dirt and put seed down and it will stay there until it germinates.

Snow mold may also be on your lawn once the big snow piles melt, and she says all you have to do is rake that out.
