MCSO finds nothing suspicious at a Goodyear Park & Ride lot

GOODYEAR, Ariz. -

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says they didn't find anything suspicious at a Goodyear park and ride lot after a threat against an employee.

32-year-old Manual Lopez allegedly threatened the his father and Verde Nuclear Power Plant.

Officials say he said he was going to blow up his vehicle at the Goodyear park and ride lot.

Multiple agencies responded to the lot Thursday evening and called a bomb squad to investigate..

The area around Cornerstone and Dysart Rd was closed while authorities looked for a device.

Ultimately, nothing suspicious was found.

Lopez, who is currently on probation for a previous crime, was charged with threats to commit an offense.
