CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Bond was set at $1 million for a man charged, along with an accomplice, in connection with a string of four recent robberies, including an early Friday hold-up of a Sarpino's restaurant in which he implied he was carrying explosive devices.

Brian O'Connor, 31, and Sarah Doubek, 35, each face three felony counts of armed robbery, in addition to felony charges of aggravated robbery and aggravated attempted robbery, police announced Sunday morning.

The Sarpino's restaurant was robbed about 2 a.m. Friday in the 600 block of West Lake Street, when O'Connor and Doubek ordered pizza then sat down at a table before the pair approached the counter with scarves around their faces and announced a robbery, police said.

Although he didn't show a weapon, O'Connor implied he had an explosive device inside a duffle bag he was carrying, police said.

Doubek then took an unspecified amount of cash from the restaurant's vault before the pair ran away, police said. No one was injured in the robbery.

Less than four hours earlier, a 7-Eleven was robbed at gunpoint in the Lincoln Square neighborhood in the 2300 block of West Lawrence Avenue at 10:25 p.m. Thursday, police said.

O'Connor and Doubek are suspected in that robbery as well, when a man showed a shotgun a woman took cash, police said. No one was injured.

Police announced Sunday that the pair are suspected in another two robberies that happened less than a week before: one business was robbed about 9:30 p.m. on March 22 in the 200 block of South Leavitt Street, and another about 8:15 p.m. on March 23 in the 2300 block of West Madison Street.

O'Connor and Doubek, both of the 2200 block of West Madison Street, were arrested Friday.

Doubek was ordered held on $500,000 bond at a hearing Sunday, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office. O'Connor's bond was set at $1 million, and both will next appear in court Friday at Br. 44, 3150 W. Flournoy St.
