PHOENIX (KSAZ) -

A part-time Arizona State University student has been named Playboy's April 2014 Playmate of the Month and she stopped by the FOX 10 studios to talk about her new found fame.

"It wasn't uncomfortable at all. They don't make it awkward or anything, it's very comfortable, they make it just like you have clothes on. So I felt very comfortable."

Meet Shanice Jordyn.

"This is my first time ever modeling and modeling nude."

Jordyn did her photos shoots at a vintage roller skating rink in Glendale, California and also at the Ken and Barbie beach house Malibu.

"And it was all like '80s style, long socks, big hair, big earrings and it was really cool," she said.

Jordyn turns 22 on April 8, a day before Hugh Heffner turns 88.

"I like to hang out at the mansion.  I go to L.A. every now and then and party with Heffner and all the playmates."

Jordyn first appeared in Playboy's college issue last October.

"I actually got discovered by Playboy by working at Hooters on Mill Avenue.  They actually came in there for the college edition," she said.  "They were looking for girls for the PAC 12 and they picked me and then I did the Playmate test shoot and I passed that and now I'm a centerfold."

Jordyn works full-time as a dental assistant.  She also works as a server at Twin Peaks on the weekends.

"I've had a couple people be like, 'Oh you look so familiar.' I'm like, 'Is it in the Playboy magazine?' They're like, 'Yep.' I was like, 'That's me, yeah.' But not too many yet. But just because it just came out."

Jordyn takes part-time online classes at ASU.

She grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and moved to Arizona when she was 17.  She graduated from Mountain Pointe High School in Ahwatukee.

"I played basketball, I ran track, I pretty much played every sport that you could think of besides golf. I played hockey in third grade, I played it all."

So what does her family think about her Playboy fame?

"My family actually supports me, they love it. At first I didn't want to do it. And then my mom's like, 'Oh do it, do it. It's your only opportunity so you might as well do it before you get old."

Jordyn talked to us about her future plans.

"My goal is to model for Nike.  That's like my future goal, just to model for Nike and other big modeling industries and agencies."

She hopes to move to Los Angeles in July.
