NEW CASTLE, Del. -

Troopers apprehended two burglars at the George Read Middle School in New Castle Delaware.

At 12:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Troopers responded to a burglary alarm at the school on 214 East Basin Road. A Trooper walking around the exterior of the building saw two males inside. When the men saw the police they immediately ran out of the building.

After a short foot pursuit, 21 year old Manuel Marshall and a 17 year old male from Wilmington were both apprehended.

Troopers determined that the pair entered the school through an unsecured window. The 17-year-old took four sets of head phones from the computer lab, and the defendants tried to take a computer and monitor but were interrupted by the arriving Troopers.

Both defendants were transported to Troop 2 and charged with burglary and related offenses. Marshall was released after posting $6,000 secured bail. The 17-year-old was released on $8,750 unsecured bail.
