An Atlanta boy survived a kidnapping thanks to his strong pipes and love of gospel music.

Willie Myrick was nine years old when was kidnapped from his driveway and thrown into a car earlier this month, FoxNewsInsider.com reports.

“He told me he didn’t want to hear a word from me,” Myrick said. That’s when Myrick began to sing a gospel song called “Every Praise" by gospel singer Hezekiah Walker.

The kidnapper started cursing and repeatedly told Myrick to shut up, but he wouldn’t. He sang the song for about three hours until the kidnapper let him out of the car.

"He was probably irritated of me singing," Myrick told V-103 FM in Atlanta during a radio interview Wednesday.

Myrick, who turned 10 on April 17, ran to a nearby home and asked the resident to call his guardian.

Police don’t have any leads on the suspect, but are hoping a sketch they released will generate tips.
