PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A massive fire destroyed a tire and auto shop over the weekend; the roof of one of the buildings collapsed just minutes after firefighters were told to get off the roof.

Both businesses are a total loss; their back walls and roofs collapsed.

On Monday some customers got a call today telling them that their cars were destroyed in the fire.

Flames shot out of a Phoenix body shop where dozens of tires caught fire over the weekend.

"i'm shocked and we came running. We came here, and we looked at everything that was burning, and all the damage by the fire," said Abdukarim Ibrahim.

Abdukarim Ibrahim watched as the fire destroyed his shop and the shop next door.

"I was sad, I've seen my brother work hard for five years to start this business," said Jamal Ibrahim.

Several of his customers' cars were also destroyed.

"A lady called him last night, she owned the car burned in the back, and she told him your place got burned and I could not believe," said Jamal.

The owner says he does not have insurance, so he's not sure how he's going to replace the building and the cars that were being worked on.

Firefighters believe this fire is suspicious. Right now arson investigators are trying to figure out how the fire started.

"Everything that's here, everything I miss, you know. I do not have anything today. I feel sad, you know," said Abdukarim.

Ibrahim came to phoenix from Somalia, his dream of owning his own body shop went up in flames.

"He owned the business and he just lost it, so I feel sorry for him," said Jamal.

Ibrahim believes the fire started in the back part of the shop. For now the investigation into this fire continues
