DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. -

A nationally syndicated radio show host is reaching out to a young hero whose family recently lost their home.

Carson Taylor, 15, was hailed a hero in March after saving a neighbor’s life.

Carson was recognized by the media and Douglas County school district for convincing a school bus driver to turn around, so he could render aid to Jennifer Tincher when he saw her collapsed at her home in March.

“I’m very very grateful I owe that young man my life,” said Tincher.

Taylor and his mother, Arnetta Taylor, appeared on the Rickey Smiley Morning Show Tuesday.

Taylor’s family lost their home in June, but thanks to the generosity of the FOX 5 viewers and others they are making it one day at a time.

“It's been hard but we are blessed because we could have been homeless and thanks to the generosity of the community we are not,” said Arnetta Taylor.

Arnetta Taylor was thrilled to learn Monday that Rickey Smiley wanted to feature her family on his morning show. Tuesday morning, the family made their big appearance. FOX 5 was the only television station there to help share the big moment.

Rickey Smiley personally donated money to the Taylor family and asked his listeners to do the same.

"Keep being a good young man, keep being awesome, and see how you saved that lady's life and then now you came up here and God has blessed you," said Smiley on Tuesday.

Claudia Jordan, Smiley's co-host, was also moved by the Taylor's plight and offered to cover the family's grocery expenses.

The family’s church is putting them up at an extended stay motel, as a temporary home while Carson and Arnetta get back on their feet, in addition to contributions from FOX 5 viewers.

Arnetta Taylor tells FOX 5 she is up for a job and has a second interview lined up this week.

A fund has been set up at Suntrust Bank under the name "Arnetta Kemp." You can donate at any Suntrust Bank if you would like to help.
