Lightning strike kills man at Ann Arbor-area park

Posted: Updated:
PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities say a lightning strike killed a 32-year-old man at a park near Ann Arbor.

Waves of severe thunderstorms hit Michigan's Lower Peninsula on Tuesday and Wednesday, triggering at least one tornado and blacking out tens of thousands of homes and businesses.

Township police Deputy Chief Gordy Schick says that the Washtenaw County medical examiner's office has confirmed that lightning killed Dustin Flodin.

Authorities say that a man walking his dogs found the Saline man's body Wednesday night.
