Philadelphia Police are searching for a suspect involved in a shooting in North Philadelphia.

The shooting happened just after 11 p.m. on Saturday, on the 700-block of West Montgomery Avenue.

According to Philadelphia Police Captain Michael Gormley, officers were called to disperse a crowd of about 300-400 people who were in the lot of 1800 North Franklin Street for an impromptu BBQ.

Captain Gormley said the crowd spilled out onto the 700 block of  Montgomery Avenue. At that time, 10 or 11 shots were fired, 1 shot struck the 16-year-old boy and one shot struck a 19-year-old male, according to Captain Gormley.

A stray bullet struck a police vehicle; however, no officers were inside at the time.

The 16-year-old was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after. The 19-year-old victim is currently in stable condition at Temple Hospital.

So far, police do not have any suspects.
