PHOENIX (AP) - A man has been ordered jailed until his trial on a charge that he participated in the fatal shooting of a tribal police officer during a traffic stop on the outskirts of metro Phoenix.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Lawrence Anderson ruled that Joey Michael Thomas posed a danger to the community and cited allegations that Thomas was involved in the May 24 death of Officer Jair Cabrera of the Salt River Police Department.

Another man charged in the case, Elijah Loren Arthur, also was ordered last month to be detained until trial.

Cabrera was shot at a convenience store where the stop was made.

Investigators say Arthur fatally shot the officer.

Thomas is accused of supplying the rifle, driving the car stopped by Cabrera and baiting the officer into the stop.
