MESA, Ariz. - The search is over for a Glendale man who was reported missing on the Salt River Thursday.

Fitzroy Campbell was tubing with his family when he disappeared.

On Friday, Maricopa County Sheriff's Office deputies recovered Campbell's body.

This happened near the Sheep's Crossing area, making him the second person to die at the river in 2014.

Around Noon, divers discovered the 43-year-old's body in about 12 to 18 feet of water.

On Thursday at about 2:15 p.m., Campbell got separated from his group.

"They got separated and there's a fork in the water in the area right there.  One side is a little faster and got some rapids and that's where the wife and some friends actually got onto and Fitzroy went the other direction," said MCSO's Chris Hegstrom.

The family waited Fitzroy to show up, but he never appeared.

Hegstrom says at this time, it doesn't look like alcohol is to blame and suggests that a medical condition or cramping could play a part in the drowning.

"We're talking going out in these conditions where it's hot, you're using muscles you don't normally use when you're on the river.. for whatever reason, he came off of his raft."

As crews spent the day searching, tubers came out for a day of fun.  Many of them didn't even know that a man went missing.

While the river hosts guests looking to crack open a cold one and cool off, it also holds the potential for danger.

"When you're gonna be around water, you need to take the precautions necessary to be safe," said Hegstrom.

The Medical Examiner's Office is still working to determine the exact cause of death, but no foul play is suspected.

Campbell is the 11th person to drown in Maricopa County's lakes and rivers this year.
