PORT HURON, Mich. (WJBK) - The 5-year-old boy who was reported missing from Port Huron July 11 was found dead in a vehicle, the Port Huron Police Department says.

Derrick Holmon was last seen around 8:30 a.m. in the 2500 block of Manuel Street, where he lived. He was reported missing at 11 a.m.

Derrick was found lying face down in the backseat of a car parked a few houses down at about 6 p.m. later that day, police say.

Initial investigation at the scene did not indicate foul play and it appears the child may have entered the car and succumbed to the high heat.

The death is still under investigation and a final disposition as to the cause of death will be determined upon conclusion of the police investigation and the medical examiners report.

Fox 2's Andrea Isom will have the latest on this story tonight.
