Police search Thunderbird Park

Posted: Updated:

Dozens of police officers searched a Phoenix park overnight after a report of suspicious activity involving a child near 23rd Avenue and Thunderbird.  Police say nothing was found during their search overnight.

After receiving a tip Friday, at least 40 officers dispersed along a wash, looking at the ground with flashlights -- investigating a crime against a small child.

Police said based upon the information they received in a call about suspicious activity, they had no choice but to search the wash.  Several transients along the wash were interviewed, but no information came from those discussions.
