ALL-STAR COLOR RUN: Minnesota gets splashed

Posted: Updated:
ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) -

The Color Run is splashing its first-ever MLB All-Star weekend -- it's a 5K race where participants look a little different at the finish line, sweat aside.

Participants are doused in different colored powder at each kilometer. MLB will make a contribution to three charities supporting cancer research and education - Stand Up To Cancer, Prostate Cancer Foundation and Susan G. Komen - and The Color Run will make a contribution to their charitable partner, Camp Kesem.

The race begins on Carnes Avenue between Chambers Street and Nelson Street and ends at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand -- home to several fun runs that hit the metro. Dave Winfield, Member of Baseball Hall of Fame and Twelve-Time All-Star Juan Marichal, Member of the Baseball Hall of Fame and Ten-Time All-Star Scott Erickson and Doug Mientkiewicz among other notable Twins personalities will be at the event -- no word on whether they'll be doused in color or if they'll be donning clean shirts.
