Man, 18, charged with shooting two teens on West Side

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A 18-year-old man has been charged with the shooting of two teenagers Sunday night on the West Side.

Cortez Patterson is charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and violating parole, according to Chicago Police.

Patterson shot the two teens in the 1500 block of South Christiana Avenue about 7:25 p.m. Sunday, according to police.

A 16-year-old girl was shot in the shoulder, and a 17-year-old boy was shot in the knee, police said. Both were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where their conditions were stable.

Patterson, of the 2700 block of West Jackson, is scheduled to appear in bond court Wednesday.
