PHOENIX (KSAZ) -
How does a home cooked meal sound without cooking at home? A new kitchen is there for those wanting the taste of a home cooked dinner.

Making dinner is a process. There's planning, shopping, prepping, chopping and cooking.

It could be part of the reason that many families are giving up on making dinner.

Everybody is so busy, and it's really hard to find the time to cook seven nights a week.

Enter the Dream Dinner concept, their motto is "Home Made, Made Easy." Inside the Dream Dinners store there are six-kitchen stations with recipes, utensils, and ingredients ready to go.

"Everything is already washed and chopped, it's laid out for them, that's how they can do it so quickly and save the time," said Prefling.

It's set up with the busy working person in mind. So instead of dealing with a large task you go straight to the cooking.

"It enables us to come home, know what we're going to have to eat, and put it right in. Not spending time thinking about it, spend time worrying about what we're missing," said Steve Threadgill.

Steve Threadgill and his wife both work full-time and have two young kids. They often come into Dream Dinners together and make meals for the week.

The day FOX 10 spoke with him he was making Turkey Florentine burgers. He says the food is tasty; it's healthy, and it's even improved on family time.

"The best thing for me is it gets us time around the table. I grew up in a family where that was essential, you had to sit down and have dinner with the family, and forces that issue with the family now so I really enjoy that," he said.

The recipes sit right in front of you, right down to the spices, everything is also color coded.

"Each type of measuring spoon has a color band on it that corresponds to the recipe, so boom, boom, boom, you can go through it," said Prefling.

Herb crusted flank steak, peppercorn salmon with asparagus, the list goes on.

"My wife really loved the shrimp risotto, last night we had the buffalo chicken," said Threadgill.
"When you put this meal in front of your family it's so much better than fast food, I know the ingredients are fresh, I know the chicken is good chicken," said another customer.

The big question is how much does it all cost? It depends on the meal, but roughly $5 per serving. A dinner for six would cost about $30.
