Thousands gathered in northern New Jersey on Tuesday to remember Police Officer Christopher Goodell.

SkyFox HD was over the funeral procession into St. Luke's Church in Ho-Ho-Kus. Mourners including police officers from across the state lined the driveway of the church as the service began.

Goodell, 32,  was on Route 17 South operating a radar gun when he was rear-ended in his parked, unmarked vehicle near Bergen Ave. in Waldwick at about 1:20 a.m. on Thursday.

He was pronounced dead at 1:41 a.m. Gov. Chris Christie ordered flags at state office buildings to be flown at half-staff Tuesday.

The man accused of driving a tractor-trailer that slammed into Goodell pleaded not guilty to vehicular homicide.

Ryan Cumberbatch, of Brooklyn, made an initial court appearance in Hackensack on Monday.

Cumberbatch only spoke during the brief hearing to say he understood the charge. His attorney said they wouldn't comment out of respect for the police officer's family.

It is not clear why the truck carrying produce veered into the shoulder, struck Goodell's vehicle and slammed through a retaining wall.

Cumberbatch was not injured, said Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli.

Only one lane of Route 17 South was open Thursday morning approaching Sheridan Ave. due to a police investigation of the deadly incident.

Goodell is the second police officer in New Jersey to die while on the job this week. On Sunday, Jersey City Police Officer Melvin Santiago, 23, was shot and killed outside a Walgreens store.

Burger chain Five Guys is testing the adage that everything tastes better with bacon. It is rolling out a customizable milkshake program and along with bananas, peanut butter, Oreo cookies, salted caramel, you can chose bacon.  Yes that's right: a bacon milkshake.

Like most soon-to-be third graders, Sonja knows what she's looking for when it comes to back-to-school shopping. For kids trying to be fashionable -- and parents looking to keep it affordable -- there's the Ocean County Hunger Relief Warehouse in Toms River, New Jersey. It's basically a huge thrift shop.
