GILBERT, Ariz. -

Gilbert police are processing the scene of a possible cat hoarding house near Val Vista and Ray Roads.

Authorities have located 79 cats including some that were living inside the walls of the home.

Emergency responders donned protective equipment as they pulled the cats from the home.

A neighbor reportedly flagged down a police officer and told him about the situation.

The owner of the home, a 59 year-old woman, has been taken to the Gilbert Police Department for an interview with authorities. It is unclear if she will face any charges. Authorities say the woman's house was foreclosed on and when the new owner came to renovate they found the cats inside.

Crews from the Arizona Humane Society also responded and are taking care of the rescued cats.
