The FBI is involved in the investigation. April's body was found Thursday night near the Macomb Orchard Trail. Armada Police Chief Howard Smith says April took the family dog for a walk on the trail around dinner time. Around 8:20 p.m. two people walking on the trail were led by April's dog to her body. Police say the dog stayed over April, wandering back and forth to the path, seemingly looking for help.

On Friday, police said they're looking for a long gray van that has dents all over it. It was occupied by two white males. Police now say they're also looking for a small motorcycle and a rider wearing a black helmet that was also seen in the area.
April was a student at Armada Middle School. Grief counseling will be set up at the school on Saturday, July 26 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. for staff and students.
