Slick Commute: Truck Carrying Butter, Dairy Products Spills Load

Posted: Updated:

It was a slippery commute for folks in Indiana on Monday morning after a truck carrying butter overturned.

The accident happened around 3:30 a.m. on Interstate 465 in Indianapolis.

Police say about 45,000 pounds of butter and other dairy products spilled onto the highway.

Many of those butter tubs cracked open and coated the roadway.

It appears the truck driver fell asleep behind the wheel and hit a highway barrier.

Luckily, no one was hurt.

Crews worked all morning to scoop the butter and whipped cream off the highway.
