Romulus cop loses badge over road rage incident

Posted: Updated:
ROMULUS, Mich. (WJBK) -
A road rage incident cost a Romulus police officer his job.

David Brooks had been placed on suspension since June.

That's when he was accused of unlawfully pointing a firearm at a motorist during an off-duty incident in the area of Belleville and I-94.

Following Brooks' arraignment on two felony criminal charges of felonious assault and felony firearm, an internal review took place to determinte his fate.

The Romulus Police Department decided Brooks' actions violated departmental policies and procedures.

In fact, the department felt it had no choice but to terminate the officer.

Brooks had been with the department for two years.
