NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Singer Constantine Maroulis is back on Broadway in Rock of Ages and he couldn't be more excited.

“It's incredible. I think every actor's dream is to create a role that becomes an iconic show all around the world. The show is played for millions of people. To be back on Broadway is a great time,” said Maroulis.

The Brooklyn born, New Jersey raised performer returned to the role he helped create this summer. The question was never if, but when, he would come back.

“It's right on the line of stupidity and genius. It's got that truthfulness to it. We brought a lot of that back to the show. The crowds have been amazing,” said Maroulis.

The campy musical set in the 1980s set the tone for another hit on the Great White Way.

“I don't think there would be a Book of Mormon without Rock of Ages, thinking outside the box with the writing the way we did,” said Maroulis.

This time around, Maroulis, a dad and husband, has a lot more on his plate. The Tony nominee has a few Broadway shows in the works both as a producer and as an actor.

Maroulis will star in Rock of Ages at the Helen Hayes Theatre until Oct. 24.

Comedian Richard Lewis and 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' creator Larry David go way back.  "We went to camp (as kids), hated him, never saw him again. I started at the Improv, no longer here, and he was a fan. I was drinking back then and I said 'I hate you.' We had a fistfight at a bar and we bonded. We love each other and yet we annoy each other," said Lewis. The pair was quite the comedic duo on the hit HBO show.
