(WJBK) - A former teacher at Bishop Foley High School was in court Wednesday, accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.

Her preliminary examination was waived, reports Fox 2's Amy Andrews who was in court.

Kathryn Ronk, 29, is accused of having sex with a 15-year-old student in her classroom at the school in Madison Heights, among other places.

The former Spanish teacher is charged with five counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and faces life in prison for each count if convicted.

Right now Ronk is free on bond but she must wear a tether.

She is also facing an array of charges for sex crimes in Macomb County including first-degree criminal sexual conduct, possession of child sexually abusive material, and furnishing alcohol to a minor.

She's accused of assaulting a student in a car in Sterling Heights and in the victim's Macomb Township home.

Ronk, who is married, began teaching at Bishop Foley in 2013. She was let go earlier this year.
