It's pain in the name of art. A Charleston, SC photographer took pictures of people as they were being stunned with a taser (at the hands of their friends).

The photographer also shot video of the photo shoot. That video has more than 2 million views on YouTube.

Patrick Hall, a portrait photographer, says he's always tried to make his subjects comfortable. This is a far cry from comfortable, but Hall said this project guaranteed he'd get real emotion out of the participants.

Hall said he got the idea about a year ago, but finally decided to go ahead and do it. Read more about his project here.
