1 dead, 1 injured after officer-involved shooting with Buckeye Police, MCSO investigating

Authorities say one person is dead and another person is injured following an officer-involved shooting near Buckeye.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's office with help from Buckeye Police responded to the scene after shots were fired at 6:15 p.m. near Lower Buckeye and Watson Roads.

Deputies and officers arrived to find 21-year-old Granados-Zuno with a gunshot wound. He is expected to be okay. The suspect had left the scene.

MCSO says shortly after not far from the initial scene, Buckeye Police officers were engaged by an active shooter that matched the suspect's description. As the shooter engaged with officers, they fired back killing the suspect. 

The suspect has been identified as 26-year-old Jose Eduardo Flores.

No other injuries were reported.

MCSO detectives are investigating both incidents.
