It's unclear where April McLaughlin has been since she was released from jail last week. Police had accused her of 55 counts of animal cruelty among other charges, but those were dropped on Sept. 27.

Sheriff Penzone, in an announcement he had called “very important," said he would leave office in January.

Detectives found the body of a man who had been shot. He was identified as 39-year-old Ricardo Villalobos.

The situation started just before 11 p.m. on Sept. 30 after someone called 911 to report that there was a fight at a home near Baseline Road and Dobson. One person was reportedly armed with a gun, police said.

The incident happened just south of 7th Avenue and Southern at around 9 p.m. on Sept. 29.

Police were called to 7th Street and Jefferson around 11:15 p.m. on Sept. 29 for an “unknown trouble" call and found a man who had been shot.

“It has come to our attention that the Pinal County School Office Data Processing Consortium was the victim of a Ransomware attack this weekend," read an email from Jill Broussard, the Pinal County Superintendent of Schools.
