LAVEEN, Ariz. (KSAZ) - A Laveen man has been arrested after police say he broke into several homes near 67th Avenue and Baseline Road and then hid in a closet -- all while naked. And this is not his second run-in with police.
On March 1, Al Hakiem Sabir Towns, 40, attempted to break into multiple homes, but was scared off by a resident who was in their backyard.
The suspect was described as a naked black man with a large tattoo on his back.
The victim says Towns then jumped the back fence. He entered another home and ran to an upstairs bedroom. Police say the homeowner gathered his family and got them out of the house and called police.
A police K-9 officer located Towns in the closet of the upstairs bedroom. After refusing to come out, the K-9 then bit Towns on the arm.
Towns fought with the dog, was tased and then was bit again on the leg before being taken into custody, police say.
Towns was arrested for criminal trespassing, burglary and resisting arrest.
In September of 2016, Towns was arrested for a similar offense, this time jumping backyards and even running through a h in a Maricopa neighborhood. He was also found naked, and bloody.
He told Maricopa Police, "Every time I smoke spice, this happens."
Towns faced criminal damage and disorderly conduct charges.
Prior to the 2016 arrest, police say Towns has been arrested on similar charges in the past.
