Arizona weather forecast: The heat is back on after the brief cool down

Temperatures began warming on Sunday after a few comfortable days in the low 80s. The high Sunday afternoon hit 88 in Phoenix, which is the average high temperature for the date.

The warming trend, however, continues for the next couple of days. Monday will bring a return to the low 90s with a forecast high of 92 in Phoenix. It will be sunny and dry, too.

While the area will warm up, there won't be a massive jump. Instead, warm air from the south/southwest will creep northward. This pushes the high temperature to the middle 90s by Tuesday.

Winds will also start to increase on Tuesday with gusts up to 20 mph.

Thanks to the breezy conditions on Wednesday and Thursday, and a passing system well to the north of Arizona, the state stays dry but will see a small slip in temperatures. The forecast high temperatures around the Valley will remain in the low 90s on both days. Gusts will pick up to around 20 mph each day.

Another round of warming begins late week. Friday and Saturday are forecast to return to the middle 90s, and the upper 90s are likely starting Sunday.

Overall, the pattern looks very dry as we end April and move into May.

No rain is forecast for the next 10 days in the Valley: wash the cars, plan the pool day, but don't forget to take precautions when hiking or spending extended periods of time outdoors!
