AZ State Forestry: Wind-driven brush fire north of Prescott burns 300 acres

NEAR PRESCOTT (FOX 10) -- Officials with the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management say a brush fire is burning north of Prescott as of Monday afternoon.

According to tweets made by the department on its unverified Twitter page, the fire is burning near State Route 89A. The fire is wind-driven, and as of 8:43 p.m. Monday, the fire is 95% contained.

On its verified Twitter page, ADOT officials said during the afternoon hours that the southbound lanes State Route 89A's southbound right lane has been blocked as a result of the fire, between mileposts 320 to 322. The lane was back open at around 7:50 p.m. Monday.
