Man dead, woman critically injured after Phoenix double shooting

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Police say a man is dead after he and a woman were shot in Phoenix overnight.

According to Sgt. Armando Carbajal with Phoenix police, officers responded to reports of a possible shooting near 39th Avenue and Grand and observed a vehicle leaving the scene.

Officers pulled the vehicle over and found 30-year-old Nefartiti Ford inside with a gunshot wound. A man, identified as 26-year-old Mark Lopez, was also found in the same area with a gunshot wound.

Both victims were taken to a hospital in extremely critical condition where Lopez later died.

Police say Lopez and Nefartiti were involved in an argument with two suspects when one of the suspects, a man in his mid-20's, shot Lopez.

The second suspect, a 27-year-old man, shot Nefartiti. He is now in police custody, however, police are searching for the other suspect.
