Phoenix Police investigating deadly shooting at gas station

Phoenix Police are investigating a deadly overnight shooting that happened near a gas station in the area of 83rd Avenue and Indian School Road at around 2:20 a.m. Sunday.

Police say when officers arrived at the scene, they found a man who had been shot multiple times. He was taken to an area hospital where he later died.

Detective Luis Samudio says the victim was involved in a verbal altercation with two Hispanic male suspects and a female that entered a bar.

"The victim did not like how the two suspects looked at him and words were exchanged," stated Samudio. "When the suspects and the female left the bar, the victim and friends left a few minutes later."

Officials say the victim was confronted by the suspects, additional words were exchanged and the two suspects began to leave the scene while firing shots.

"When the victim attempted to run away, he was struck multiple times by gunshots and fell in the parking lot," said Samudio. "The suspects have not been identified and remain outstanding.  The description of the vehicles of the suspects has not been released."

The victim has been identified as Marlon Cruz Isaguirre, 33.
