APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Authorities say three Louisiana men are facing several felony charges in Arizona including aggravated assault, kidnapping and armed robbery.
DPS officials said 20-year-old Raheem Lemieux, 21-year-old Richard Lemieux and 21-year-old Tyrus Talbert are now in the Graham County Jail on suspicion of multiple charges. The men were arrested in Safford, after the stolen car they were riding in was pulled over for speeding by a DPS trooper.
The two Lemieuxes, along with Talbert, said they were stuck and couldn't get their old car to work, and a Good Samaritan who lives in Apache Junction stepped up to help. The three reportedly had no place to stay, and were hungry, so the Good Samaritan brought the three to his house, located near Idaho and McKellips.
The three were reportedly fed and allowed to stay overnight. The next day, however, was when the armed robbery happened, according to Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb.
"In the morning, what they did is they assaulted him, tie him up, choke him and taking his vehicle and a firearm from it as well," said Sheriff Lamb.
The suspects told authorities they were trying to get back home to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. One of the three reportedly ran away, but was later caught by DPS.
It was unclear Tuesday if any of the men has a lawyer for their case yet.
