Arizonan wins $112M lottery jackpot on ticket ordered through app

PHOENIX - A record jackpot in the Mega Millions lottery game has one Arizonan resident nearly $100 million richer to start 2025.
The winning ticket, now worth $112 million, was ordered through the Jackpocket app, which launched in Arizona in 2023.
The ticket, purchased online, is the largest lottery jackpot won from a ticket ordered through the Jackpocket app and is the 61st ticket that paid out a jackpot of more than $1 million.
"We are thrilled that an Arizona Lottery player won the first Mega Millions jackpot of the year and grateful to our network of 3,500+ retailers," said Alec Thomson, executive director of Arizona Lottery said in a press release. "Through their efforts, the Arizona Lottery can fund vital programs and services that benefit communities throughout the state."
