PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Phoenix Fire officials say three homes were damaged in a first alarm fire near 20th St and Bell.

Because of the severity of the fire, the initial units called for a first alarm response.

Neighbors describe the flames as intense with heavy black smoke.

An investigation is underway into the cause of the fire.
