The words printed across these T-shirts might seem shocking to some, but the students who wrote them say they serve a very important purpose.

"Every shirt is going to represent a child who has died since the Parkland shooting," Jordan Harb said.

Seventy-three T-shirts for 73 children. March for Our Lives co-chair Jordan Harb says the statistics that come from the website gunviolence.org are nationwide.

The impact, according to students, is being felt right here in Arizona.

"We don't want to see more of our peers in our country being shot down," Alexis Rice said. "I think it's a really good reminder that the lawmakers need to listen to our voices."

Recently, Gov. Doug Ducey introduced a school safety plan that is expected to include $11 million for additional school resource officers. That would pay for 110 new officers, nearly double the current number paid for by the state.

"It doesn't do anything, it's not aggressive enough," Harb said.

Marcy for Our Lives is calling for a ban on bump stocks, more counselors in schools, and universal background checks.

"Most of these deaths on the lawn today that happen are miles from campus because gun violence affects people on the streets, in their homes, out of school," Harb said.
