SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Scottsdale police say a teenager is dead after a car hit a power pole, which caused the vehicle to be ripped in half.
According to police, the 16-year-old driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene when the car hit the power pole near Scottsdale and Doubletree Ranch Roads.
Police also say speed was a contributing factor in the crash.
Scottsdale Road has been reopened, but there are restrictions in the northbound lanes due to repair of the power pole.
