‘The Sopranos’ actor Vincent Pastore dies at 80, reports say

Vincent Pastore, the actor most famous for his role in "The Sopranos," has died at the age of 80, according to multiple reports. 

Big picture view:

Pastore was found dead at his Bronx home on Saturday, Deadline and TMZ reported. They both indicated that Pastore had not been heard from in several days. The cause of his death has not been released.

Why you should care:

Pastore was best known for his role as Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero in the long-running HBO series "The Sopranos," where he appeared in 30 episodes. In 2000, he won a Screen Actors Guild award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. 

The backstory:

With nearly 200 acting credits to his name, Pastore made many appearances on television and in movies. He played Angelo Ruggiero, a mobster associated with John Gotti in the movie "Gotti" and was also featured in "Mickey Blue Eyes."
